Ruthie, with Special Needs Dobermans

Ruthie is one of Special Needs Dobermans' newest general funds cases. She was found in Ohio, dumped at the intersection of two county roads (yes, in THIS weather, which I'm sure is similarly frigid throughout the country) [hush, Florida]. She's with a foster home through Southwest Ohio Doberman Rescue, and they speculate she could be between 8 and 10.

Poor Ruthie was clearly owned by a backyard breeder or a puppy mill, as she was bred many times over. She has mammary cysts, which they don't know yet whether they're benign, and swellings in her gums. She also doesn't have any teeth. Despite this, she runs and plays with the other dogs at her foster home. She's a sweet girl who seems totally thrilled to be inside, and is enthralled by the treat jar.

And oh yeah, her ears are natural. She just holds them like that!

If you want to read a more in depth bio of Ruthie, you can do so here, on the Special Needs Dobermans page.

If you're interested in sponsoring or adopting Ruthie, you can check out her very own page on the Senior Doberman Project. The cost of Sponsorship is $40 a month. Information on adoption can be found through the Southwest Ohio Doberman Rescue page, and you can email swohdoberescue AT aol DOT com.
